About Course

The Integrated Double Degree Course in Law is a five-year academic program that combines a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.), as per the curriculum designed by the respective university. This integrated course adheres to the guidelines established by the Bar Council of India (BCI) under its authority derived from the Advocates Act, 1961. Upon successful completion of the program, the degree awarded is recognised for the purpose of enrolment as an Advocate under the provisions of the Advocates Act, 1961. The program requires students to complete five academic years of rigorous study, ensuring a strong foundation in both their chosen discipline and legal education. The final six months of the last year include a mandatory practical training component, designed to provide hands-on legal experience and exposure to real-world legal practice. This combination of academic learning and practical training equips graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the legal profession.

Eligibility & Admission Criteria


  • (i) Nativity Requirements:

    • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
    • However, only candidates of Kerala origin are eligible for reservation benefits or fee concessions.

    To establish Indian citizenship, applicants must upload any one of the following documents along with their application:

    • A true copy of the birth certificate issued by a competent birth registration authority (Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation), indicating that the place of birth is within any state or union territory of India.
    • A relevant page from the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) showing the place of birth in any state or union territory of India.
    • A valid passport issued by the Government of India.
    • A certificate from a Village Officer or other competent authority, verifying that the candidate is a native of any state or union territory of India (in the prescribed format).
  • For candidates claiming Kerala origin, any one of the following documents must be uploaded to prove nativity:

    • A relevant page of the SSLC certificate showing the place of birth in Kerala.
    • A birth certificate issued by a competent birth registration authority, indicating Kerala as the place of birth.
    • Relevant pages of the passport of either the candidate or their parents, issued by the Government of India, showing the place of birth in Kerala. (If the parent’s passport is submitted, a corroborative certificate proving the relationship must also be uploaded.)
    • SSLC certificate pages of either the candidate or their parents, showing Kerala as the place of birth. (If using the parent’s certificate, a corroborative relationship certificate must be uploaded.)
    • A certificate in the prescribed format issued by the Village Officer or Tahsildar, confirming that the candidate or their parent was born in Kerala.
  • (ii) Academic Qualifications:

    • Candidates must have successfully completed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) conducted by the Higher Secondary Education Board of Kerala, or any equivalent examination recognised by universities in Kerala.
    • Applicants who have completed a 10+2 schooling system recognised by the Central or State Government Educational Authorities, or possess equivalent academic qualifications as recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI), are eligible to apply.
    • Candidates who have obtained a Higher Secondary Pass Certificate (+2) or a First Degree Certificate through distance education or correspondence courses are also considered eligible for admission.
    • However, individuals who have directly pursued a 10+2 qualification or a graduation/ postgraduate degree through open university systems without a basic qualification for such studies are not eligible for admission.
    • Students who are currently appearing or have recently appeared for their qualifying examination may also apply. However, they will be eligible for admission only upon producing their final pass certificate and mark list at the time of admission.
    • A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination is required for general category candidates.
    • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST), the minimum required percentage is 40%.
    • No rounding off of marks to the nearest integer is permitted
  • (iii) Age Criteria:

    • The applicant must have completed 17 years of age as of December 31st of the admission year.
    • The upper age limit for admission to the five-year integrated LL.B. course will be subject to the final decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
    • If the age restriction under Clause 28 of the Legal Education Rules, 2008, as framed by the Bar Council of India (BCI), is reinstated, only those within the specified age limit will be permitted to take the Entrance Examination.
